Vintage Shugart Associates SA-1004 8" Hard Disk Drive:

This is an rare disk drive from Shugart Associates. It is model SA-1004 (ca 1978) that stored a whopping (at the time) 10.7 MB of storage on two 8" disks.Al Shugart was part of the early IBM Ramac team that developed the very first disk drive in 1956. He went on to start Shugart Associates and later, Seagate Technology.
This is the third model offered for sale that belonged to one of the founder of Data Management Labs in San Jose (see my other sales) and it is in near-mint conditions (see pictures). This is a museum quality piece that will certainly be a showpiece for any vintage computing aficionado.
